Natural Hair Treatments You Can Try

Coconut Oil

Coconut oil is a great deep conditioner for your hair. It also helps to promote hair growth and reduce frizz. Apply it liberally, comb through with a wide-toothed comb or your fingers until you feel the oil is completely absorbed into your scalp then cover with a plastic cap for 30 minutes. Rinse out in cool water.

Olive Oil

Olive oil can be used as a hot oil treatment to moisturize and soften your hair . Apply a generous amount of oil to your hair, comb it through with fingers until the oil is completely absorbed into your scalp. Cover with plastic cap for 30 minutes then rinse in cool water.

Honey

Honey may be one of the oldest home remedies around and this sweetener does wonders as a hot oil treatment too! Apply honey liberally to your hair, comb through and cover with a plastic cap for 30 minutes. Rinse in cool water to remove the honey residue left on your skin after washing it off of your scalp.

Apple Cider Vinegar

Use apple cider vinegar as a hot oil treatment. Apply generously all over hair then wrap head using an old towel. This treatment will help with dry hair and scalp.

Aloe Vera

Dry, brittle hair may be a sign of dehydration . Drink more water to help with dry hair as well as apply Aloe Vera gel which is high in amino acids that can strengthen your strands from the inside out. Massage into scalp then cover with plastic cap for 30 minutes. Rinse the Aloe Vera out of your hair with cool water.

Eggs

If you have a dry scalp, eggs may help! To apply it as a masque , separate the egg yolk and add one tablespoon of milk then mix until it becomes an ointment-like consistency. Once ready, put this mixture on to damp strands (not wet). Let the eggs sit on your hair for about 45 minutes then rinse. You can also use this mixture as a deep conditioner by leaving it in for an hour.

Tea Tree Oil

If you have an oily scalp, tea tree oil may help! To apply the treatment, mix together three tablespoons of water and two teaspoons of tea tree oil from your home cupboard. Use this mixture to massage your scalp and hair for 30 minutes. Rinse off the oil with shampoo then wash as usual with warm water.

Avocado

This fruit is an excellent source of protein, which will help strengthen your hair follicles. Take one avocado , mash it into a puree, and add in three tablespoons of olive oil. Massage the mixture through your hair and scalp then allow it to sit for about 20 minutes before rinsing off with shampoo.

Castor oil

This oil helps promote healthy growth in the scalp and also prevents breakage. You can rub it into your scalp and hair, or add it to other natural treatments you may be using.
