Kopapa

Gosh, I love Kopapa. I’ve only ever been for breakfast at Peter Gordon’s low-key Seven Dials eatery, but we’re talking about easily 20 breakfasts over the past few months, and they’re always perfect. It has everything I want in a breakfast/brunch spot: fiercely strong coffee, an intriguing brunch menu (granola with fruit and blossom honey, avocado toast with chilli, goat’s cheese and mint, sexy takes on the fry up, sides of quality grilled chorizo or avocado halves…) and friendly, flexible staff. They have a bunch of juicing ingredients – beetroot, carrot, ginger, apple, celery – which they will whizz up in any combination for you. The must tries are the aforementioned avocado toast (pictured at top) and the Turkish eggs (pictured bottom right): poached eggs in chilli oil, tangy yoghurt and chilli butter, which you spread messily and merrily onto granary toast. Just go with it.

I work nearby (though I’m moving jobs next week) which is why I’ve been so much. It’s my favourite meeting place, and I’ll miss it so much – weekend brunches it is. I also have to go for dinner. There’s also al fresco seating for people watching in boutique heaven Seven Dials in summer and killer Bloody Marys, if you need more reasons.
