Several foods are long-time obsessions of mine and guaranteed to grab my attention on a menu: scallops, butternut squash, salted caramel, iberico ham, capers, truffle, artichokes…
I recently went to new Marble Arch restaurant Kurobuta and loved a lot of their modern Japanese creations (sticky miso aubergine, anyone?), but also discovered the small plate of my dreams, which combined two of these superfoods*. Their long, slender ‘chopsticks’ of salty artichoke come wrapped in a long pastry cigar along with a creamy truffle ponzu dip.
