One of the best bits of my job is getting to drop into the odd fun London launch or foodie event, and one of the best ‘start of summer’ ones I’ve been to lately was the launch of COPPA, an Italian barbecue (rosticceria) pop-up on a rooftop overlooking London Fields in Hackney.
At COPPA they’re all about the chic Aperol Spritz (which I didn’t think I liked, but the ones they were knocking up there were delicious and not at all bitter). A simple rooftop space has been transformed by a long bar, deckchairs, candy-coloured beach huts with cosy booths within and strings of plastic lemons, because why not. If the smoky waft of grilling prawns and aubergine-wrapped goats cheese doesn’t get you in the mood for sunshine, sipping a drink while gazing at the parklife below certainly will. Highly recommended for those heading East.
One of the best bits of the launch was bumping into lovely capital bloggers Liberty London Girl, LondonOnTheInside and Londres 101 – all addictions in their own right and lovely ladies to boot.

COPPA, open Thursday to Sunday, accessed via Hothouse Rooftop, Martello St, London E8 3QW.
