Not long ago I got to go and try the delicious grilled sticks and Scandi-tinged sushi at Sticks’n’Sushi, a brilliant recent addition to Covent Garden, and discovered a surprise new favourite – sparkling sake. Having had a couple of sake-based cocktails, my friend and I decided to share a half bottle, and while it’s no champers, it’s absolutely delicious in its own right. Lightly sparkling and with a slight edge of refreshing cucumber or melon. I could have drunk a gallon of it (we didn’t).
