Letters of Note: the book

I got addicted to the blog Letters of Note some while ago, but my love for this carefully curated selection of important* human correspondence was reignited when someone thoughtful recently bought me the new coffee table book version.

It’s just the most nourishing thing to curl up and read on a chilly winter’s evening. Some of the letters make you laugh, many make you cry, and most give you a fascinating insight into something you knew nothing about.

*Anything from a dying miner’s last words to his family to Richard Burton’s wistful farewell to Elizabeth Taylor.

My favourite letter? If this astounding love note from Henry Miller doesn’t make your heart race, you should probably have that thing checked out.
